A friend of mine has two daughters. One of the young girls likes to collect sticks.
One day on the way home from school, this girl found a particularly nice stick and proceeded to talk to it saying, "I like you stick and I think I will take you home to be with all my other sticks."
The second daughter said, "That's stupid to talk to sticks." The two girls brought the argument home and into the living room where their dad was relaxing after a hard day at work.
The father became aggravated. In a loud voice he angrily said, "Shut up!"
The first girl with her new stick said quietly as they left the room, "Now do you see why I like to talk to sticks?"
